An amazingly well preserved 12 string D-35. This 12 string D-35 features a 3-piece Brazilian rosewood back and solid sides. Solid spruce top, of course. Extra purfling on the sides and back, and a bound fingerboard. Ebony fingerboard and bridge, style 28 rosette, slotted headstock with 6/strip original Waverly tuning machines. The guitar’s original tortoiseshell celluloid pick guard is a gorgeous touch, particularly as all the D-35’s built after 1966 were fitted with back guards.

This 88 year old Gibson plays great. A large body with a 16 inch lower bout and elaborate oval sound hole in a carved spruce top,with maple sides and carved maple back. The guitar has a very mellow tone with the neck joined at the 12th fret. Built to use in big bands and orchestras. Still has original tuners. The tailpiece and bridge are Gibson from different periods. No pick guard available. The Loar improvements include advanced bracing, modern neck profile and adjustable truss rod.
